I also can't work in my studio if it seems like it is out of control, in other words too big of a mess. I am rather compulsive about this. I have to re-organize it so I can begin fresh. It used to be like that when my kids were young. I could not stand cooking dinner when they had made a mess in the kitchen. I would have to clean it up first......aaaaargh! I am still like that - only most of the time I am referring to my much-too-small studio.

Another good way is to go back through my sketch books and look for ideas I have drawn and see if one inspires me. I usually find something I had forgot about and that is always exciting.

Since we have moved to the Atlanta area I have discovered Scott's Antique Market held the second weekend of each month, it is really a fun place with more great stuff to find for use in my work. It is a good thing it is only once a month or I would be spending too much, and buying more than I have room for storage right now.
