I love to paint but never seem to have the time to create my own designs. About 20 years ago Barbara gave me a few lessons and I painted Scott a picture for Christmas. It was in oil as that was what Barbara was using at the time.
I painted a few more pictures on and off over the next few years, but ended up with more unfinished then finished. When the kids came along there was very little time for painting. It was during this period that I discovered the ease of acrylic paints. They are easier to use and dry much quicker than oil paints.
In recent years working with Barbara I’ve spent time painting borders on chalkboards, making cards, ornaments, Christmas stocking, occasionally helping with the collages. This helped a great deal in feeling more comfortable about painting and just plain giving it a try.
These latest animals are the result of one big burst of energy and a little free time. I hope to add to the collection again soon. I have tons of sketches and ideas just waiting for the right moment. As a child growing up in Australia, I drew mainly cartoon characters and animals, so I feel that this is my area of interest. Watch for more of my animals in the coming months.
These images are available as prints on wood, hanging plaques, framed prints, and greeting cards.
I look forward to hearing from you.
